my life story
My life story,
When I was a child, we lived in Manila. Things changed when my mom decided to work abroad, and my brother and I went to live with our grandmother in the province. When we arrived at my grandmother's place, I would often explore the fields and swim in the sea. I was happy with those little adventures, but deep down, I felt sad when my mom left. It was just me and my older brother, while our youngest sibling stayed in Manila with my dad.
Even though it was just the two of us, my brother always tried to make me happy. He would buy me little gifts whenever there was a special occasion, and my dad would come visit us in the province. Those moments of happiness were short-lived because we couldn’t always be together as a complete family. My mom’s work contract kept her abroad, so it was mostly my dad who came to visit. During that time, I learned a lot about household chores because my grandmother taught me how to do them.
When I was in grade 6, we went to Manila to spend Christmas and New Year. I was so excited because it meant our family would finally be complete, and I hadn’t been to Manila in a long time. We made the most of our time together, visiting different places and enjoying each other’s company. It was such a joy to celebrate the holidays as a complete family. At first, my older brother didn’t think he could join us because he didn’t know we were all going. But then my dad called and told him to buy a ticket to Manila, and he was so happy when he found out.
However, not everything was perfect. On New Year’s Eve, I tried to wake my younger sister because it was already midnight, and she got angry and punched me in the nose, causing it to bleed. I cried because it really hurts. After the holidays, it was time to go back to the province, and I felt really sad. I didn’t want to leave; I wanted to stay and go to school in Manila. My mom said that it would have been possible, but I hadn’t taken the exam yet, and I still needed to finish grade 6. So, we returned to the province. Unfortunately, COVID-19 happened, and everything changed.
During high school, classes were online until grade 8. It wasn’t until grade 9 that we could finally attend face-to-face classes. When I reached senior high school, I joined many activities, like dancing and the church choir. These activities helped me relieve stress, even though there were times I felt tired. I kept going and made many friends throughout the school year. When we had our moving-up ceremony in grade 10, my classmates and I took photos together. I’ll never forget the bond I had with one of my classmates because we made so many memories.
That's my life story so far. I hope I can pursue the course I want in college and achieve my dream of becoming a flight attendant..
